18 billion naira inherited backlog of gratuity paid by Makinde – Ige

Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board, Honourable Akeem Ige says over 18 billion naira backlog of gratuity owed by previous administrations in the state, have been cleared by the present administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Honourable Ige made this known while featuring on Pensioners FM Yoruba Stewardship programme, Aboree.

According to Honourable Ige, with Governor Makinde’s precedence of prioritising the welfare of pensioners in the state, clearing all backlog of gratuity by 2027 is possible.

Honourable Ige reemphasized that the wage award for pensioners in the state would also be paid as and when due, as issues surrounding the delay have been addressed.
