Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has again pledged his administration’s commitment to ensuring transformation of the socio-economic landscape of the state to bring governance closer to the people.
Governor Adeleke made this promise during the 2024 Ede Day celebration and 5-billion-naira development fund raising for the ancient town
Governor Adeleke, who is the Asiwaju of Edeland, reaffirmed his determination to ensure that no zone was left behind in the quest to build a new Osun State for the benefit of all and sundry.
Earlier, in a welcome address, the Timi of Edeland, Oba Munirudeen Lawal, congratulated his subjects in at home and diaspora for their commitment and contribution to the success of the 2024 Ede Day celebration.
Oba Lawal used the occasion to call on all the descendants of the town to join hands with Governor Adeleke in advancing the development of Osun.

Also speaking, Chairman Central working committee, 2024 Ede Day, Hon. Lukman Afolabi, who spoke on behalf National President, Ede Descendants’ Union, Professor Ademola Olaitan, thanked all sponsors, donors, and volunteers for their support, emphasizing that the body is committed to transparency in the use of funds raised.
In their separate remarks, Majority Leader, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewunmi Babajide and Representative of Ede South State Constituency in the house, Hon. Taofik Olayiwola and the People Democratic party Candidates for Ede, North Local government Hon. Taiwo Amodu emphasised that the day presents a moment of unity for Ede sons and daughters, regardless of where they live.
A key highlight of the 2024 Ede Day was the presentation of awards to some indigenes of the town, who have contributed significantly to its development.
One of the awardees, a Veteran Media Professional who is also the Asiwaju of Ogobi-Ede, Chief Ayodele Adeyemo, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the honour and recognition.
Chief Adeyemo, on behalf of other award recipients promised to continue working for the betterment of the Ede community and Osun State in general.

The event was attended by several distinguished individuals, to include Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, who was represented by his deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal and the Royal Father of the Day, Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun.
Also present were Grandmother of the Day, Yeyeluwa Adeleke-Sanni, Chairman of the Day, Hon. Bamidele Salam, Chairman of the Education Committee, Dr. Kazeem Kolapo, and General Manager of Pensioners FM Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu
It was a glorious day for all Ede indigenes, friends and Wellwishers of our great city.
Kudos to His Excellency, Senator Dr Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke, Governor Osun State, for changing both the social and physical landscapes of the State.
