Experts Advocate Professionalism on Scriptwriting, Translation

Scriptwriters, especially translators need to always follow rules guiding scriptwriting and translation to attain professionalism for meaningful output.

This advice was contained in an opening remark by the Assistant State Coordinator, Breakthrough Action Nigeria, BA-N, in Oyo state, Mrs. Funmilola Amosu while declaring open 3-day workshop for radio drama, scriptwriters and translators in Ibadan, tagged “Adventure of Wazobia and Translation To Yoruba Workshop”.

Mrs Amosu called on the participants to make best use of the opportunity provided them by the workshop and deepen themselves in the art of drama scriptwriting and translation to pass meaningful messages to the public.

One of the facilitators, Mrs Adebisi Adetunji emphasised among other things, proper reading, comprehension of the script, desisting from direct translation, use of proverbs and wise sayings and understanding of the storylines to ensure professional delivery.

Mrs Adetunji charged the participant to open their minds to all aspects of the workshop in order to broaden their knowledge.

some of the participants which include, General Manager, Pensioners FM, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu appreciated the organisers for the opportunity and promised to make the best of the training.

The 3-day workshop ends on Wednesday
