The Caretaker Chairman of Ede North Local Government, Hon. Taiwo Amodu has felicitated children across the local council and Osun state on the occasion of this year’s children’s day.
Describing the day as very significant in the lives of Nigerian children, Hon. Amodu in a statement personally signed by him, charged children to be good ambassadors of their respective parents, shun social vices and be of good character to lay a solid foundation for brighter and excellent future.
Hon. Taiwo Amodu said he enjoined the children in his council and children all over the country to celebrate their special day.
Children’s Day is an event celebrated every May 27th across the globe to honour the children and minors.
Hon. Amodu also used the opportunity to counsel parents and guardians not to relent in their efforts to send their children and wards to school, especially the girl child for sound education and to not force them into early marriage.
According to the Local Government administrator, the leadership of Ede North Local Government joined the rest of the world, parents, guardians and caregivers across the local government area to celebrate the children, as the future of the Soviet and unique gift from God.
“This administration will continue to prioritize the welfare and development of our children through adequate support in the area of health and education, to safeguard a bright future for them” Hon. Amodu promised.
