Rooted in the ancestral homestead of Ita-baale Ougbode in Ibadan, Oba Olakulehin’s journey through life has been a testament to resilience, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his community and heritage.
From the corridors of St. James Primary School to the halls of Yaba technical institute, his educational odyssey reflects a pursuit of knowledge and excellence that has shaped his path toward leadership and stewardship.
Venturing into the realms of public service and governance, Oba Olakulehin’s career trajectory has been marked by a diverse array of experience and accomplishments.
From his early days as a 3rd class clerk at the Ministry of Works in the defunct western region to his distinguished tenure in the Nigerian Army Corps of Engineers, where he served under the command of retired General Olusegun Obasanjo, Oba Olakulehin’s commitment to duty, honour, and service has been unwavering.
After retirement from the Nigerian army as a major, he ventured into civil engineering, bakery, printing, and publishing.
As a politician, he emerged as one of the founding leaders of the Socialist Democratic Party (SDP) and secured victory in the election to represent Ibadan south east in the federal house of representatives during the 3rd republic, showcasing his dedication to democratic ideals, governance, and the welfare of his constituents.
