Ogunbayode Calls for Independent Candidacy

A Youth leader, in Odo-ona/Apata, Ibadan, Oyo State, Mr Suliaman Ogunbayode, says finance and godfatherism are factors militating against youth’s involvement in politics.

Mr Ogunbayode made this known while featuring on Pensioners’ FM Current Affairs programme, “The Searchlight.”

According to Mr Ogunbayode, creating a platform for independent candidate scould be a solution to financial challenges and godfatherism prevailing in the country’s political space.

Mr Ogunbayode, who was the youths’ representative during Oyo state’s 2025 budget presentation, called on Governor Makinde Seyi to work towards implementing their requests, which include more inclusion of youths in decision making and building of vocational centers in all the state’s constituencies.

He further urged political office holders to stop using poverty as a weapon against youths in stemming the tides of political thuggery and hooliganism.
