Islamic Scholar, Sabiganna Advocate Religion Tolerance in Nigeria

An Islamic scholar, Fadeelat Sheikh Jamiu Sanusi – Àmí Olohun, has stressed the importance of religious tolerance among different faith and groups of people as a crucial step toward preventing conflicts and fostering unity.

Speaking at the 2nd Annual Sabiganna Ramadan Lecture, held at the Iganna Town Hall, Oja Oba in Iganna Kingdom, Sheikh Sanusi – Àmí Olohun, urged individuals,religious bodies and communities to embrace mutual respect and understanding, emphasizing that religious tolerance is essential for a stable and progressive society.

Sheikh Sanusi – Àmí Olohun, also called on leaders at all levels to promote peace and ensure that religion serves as a tool for cooperation rather than division.

Speaking with Pensioners’ FM, host of the Ramadan and Sabiganna of Iganna Kingdom, Oba Saliu Azeez, highlighted the significance of the Ramadan lecture in fostering peaceful coexistence among various religious groups.

Oba Azeez reiterated that religion should be a source of unity, harmony, and mutual understanding, rather than a cause of division.

The monarch also urged the government to adopt inclusive and balanced religious policies that promote mutual respect among different faiths and  ensure that religion continues to be a force for peace and unity in the society.

The highlight of the programme was the recitation of the holy Quran and music entertainment by Iganna born musician, Alhaja Nafisat Okola adini.

Present at the Ramadan lecture include Spiritual father of the day, Fadeelat Sheikh Hazmat Surakat who is also the Chief imam of Iganna Land, Chairman of the Day, Alhaji Rasaq Aliu,former General,Diamond FM, University of Ibadan, Dr. Paul Emokhare and the General Manager Pensioners Fm, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu.
