Milan Table N53.7 Billion Loan Deal for Boniface (LEAD)

Victor Boniface could finally be on his way out of Bayer Leverkusen after AC Milan reportedly proposed a loan deal with option to buy for a total of €30m (about N53.7 Billion) for the Nigeria International striker.

Boniface has been subject of interest for Milan searching for a striker all summer, with options including Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus and Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund.

According to Football Italia, Milan seems to have ‘have found a player available on their terms’ Boniface since others ‘require either permanent transfers, or a loan with obligation to buy’.

“The total cost if confirmed would be around €30m, although it is possible some clauses could be included to make this an obligation if certain conditions were met,” the Italian news outlet claimed.

Despite numerous injury problems, Boniface still managed to score 11 goals and provide two assists in 27 competitive games for Bayer Leverkusen last season.

In a related development, Boniface’s compatriot Samuel Chukwueze may miss this weekend Serie A opener after missing Milan’s training session at Milanello yesterday.

The winger reportedly missed both the morning and afternoon sessions at Milanello due to a minor injury that he’d picked up. Though expected to be up and running at today’s training, Chukwueze is said to be a risk for the weekend’s fixture, considering there are quite a few players that are above him in the hierarchy

Incidentally, there have been reports suggesting Chukwueze could leave this summer but there has been no movement just yet.
