A Coordinator of “Not Too Young to Run”, in Oyo State, Mr Tokunbo Gboyega, says empowering youth in the area of technology can help reduce the rate of unemployment in the state and the country at large.
Mr Gboyega, made this known while featuring on ‘Isejoba rere’ a development agenda weekly programme of JDPC, Ibadan with the support of Meserior on Pensioners’ FM.
According to Mr Gboyega, the opportunities in technology cannot be quantified, therefore, advising the government to train youths in the area and use the knowledge to develop the economy.
The youth advocate also noted that the impact of Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde has not been felt among the youths, especially in the area of technology, urging the governor to identify youths doing well in the area and use their capability to train others.
Mr Gboyega further noted that the role of mentorship would go a long way in youth development.
Isejoba Rere’ which is a development agenda programme by JDPC, Ibadan with the support of Meserior, holds every Thursday on Pensioners FM from half past two to 3’ O’clock in the afternoon.
