The lawmaker representing Egbeda/ Ona Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. Akin Alabi has urged the federal government to carry out palliative work on Alakia-Asejire road in Ibadan, Oyo State, pending the completion of the expressway project.
Hon. Alabi said this during an inspection tour of the road project.
The federal lawmaker, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Works, said the palliative work would ease free flow of movement on the road axis.
According to Hon. Alabi, the federal government had terminated the contract of the contractor handling the road project and re-awarded to another contractor.
Hon. Alabi added that as Chairman, House Committee on Works, he ensured the new contractor was in Ibadan to personally inspect the road project.
The representative of the CBC global company handling the project, Mr. Yuan promised to begin work on the road.
In an interview with newsmen, a road user, Mr. Ademola Aliu commended Hon. Alabi for facilitating the project.
Mr. Aliu noted that the road would ease movement of commuters, after completion.
