The leadership of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Ogun State has lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for approving Grade Level 17 for the graduate primary school teachers as well as the approval of a consolidated salary structure for the HeadTeacher-General.

The union said that the governor’s bold move has not only elevated the status of over fourteen thousand primary school teachers but has also rekindled the flame of passion and dedication in the hearts of educators across the state.

The union described the career upgrade as a landmark decision and masterstroke of visionary leadership, underscoring Gov Abiodun’s unwavering commitment to the advancement of education in state.

The NUT said that “As a product of the noble profession who had being well nurtured by a teacher (Omo baba teacher) ,You have demonstrated again an unforgetful love for teachers, thereby  exemplifying the adage ‘Nobody’s gratitude is greater than that of a grateful heart’.

“Your passion for teaching and learning is evident in every aspect of this approval, which will undoubtedly transform the educational landscape of our state.

“The implications of this decision are far-reaching, with benefits accruing to the education sector, the state, and the nation at large.

“This upgrade in Grade Level will not only enhance the morale of primary school teachers but will also attract and retain top talents in the profession, ultimately leading to improved academic performance and a more educated citizenry”.

Quoting Nelson Mandela who said that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” the union said that the governor has wielded this weapon of investment in education with precision, striking the bulls eye and empowering a generation of learners.
