The Team Lead, Act of Africa, ACA, Mr Olufemi Ola, has urged the Oyo State Government to ensure that road contractors are held accountable for not complying with Environmental Impact Assessment, EIA Act.
Mr Ola said this while featuring on ‘Isejoba rere’ a Pensioners’ FM development agenda weekly programme of JDPC, Ibadan with the support of Meserior.
According to Mr Ola, the state government over the years has not been doing due diligence in terms of ensuring that contractors comply with the standard of EIA, regarding road construction and other development projects.
Mr Ola noted that the non-compliance to standard practices has negatively affected the health of state residents.
The ACA Team lead also appealed to road contractors to abide by rules and regulations guiding construction and also place a premium on quality delivery.
Isejoba Rere’ which is a development agenda programme by JDPC, Ibadan with the support of Meserior, holds every Thursday on Pensioners FM from half past two to 3’ O’clock in the afternoon.
