2024 Appropriation Bill: Give Lawmakers time to scrutinize, Analysts Tell Tinubu

Two Public Affairs Analysts, Mr John Njoku and Mr Adesumbo Badejoko have urged President Bola Tinubu to give the National Assembly ample time to properly scrutinize the 2024 Appropriation Bill.

Mr Njoku and Mr. Badejoko said this while featuring on Pensioners’ FM Current Affairs program, Voice of Liberation.

According to Mr Njoku and Mr Badejoko, the lawmakers need enough time to approve the 27.5 trillion naira budget, to avoid loopholes and oversights.

They also called for more allocations for the Agricultural sector and strengthening the security sector with the allocated money.

Mr Njoku and Mr Badejoko, further called on the government to focus on the people’s welfare, and infrastructural development and reduce the cost of governance.

Earlier, in a telephone interview, a Developmental Consultant, Mr Jide Ojo, opined that President Tinubu ought to have presented the budget, 90 days before the new fiscal year for effective scrutiny.

Mr Ojo, advised President Tinubu, to aim at completing critical infrastructure projects that would help address structural problems in the economy.
