Abatan Celebrates Retirement, Birthday in Grand Style

The wife of the Secretary of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Oyo State Council, Mrs. Olivia Abatan, on Saturday, celebrated her retirement from the services of University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, coupled with her 60th birthday.

The colourful event held at Pensioners House, Agbarigo, Onireke, Ibadan, had in attendance family members, friends, colleagues from the UCH community.

The Chairman on the occasion, Chief Ademola Adelakun, a retired Permanent Secretary, described Mrs. Abatan as an admirable woman.

 Chief Adelakun offered heartfelt prayers, asking God to bless her with many more joyful years.

The celebrant’s husband, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, who spoke warmly of his wife, eulogised her humility, love, resilience, compassion, and unwavering support throughout their journey.

  Comrade Abatan also encouraged men to remain steadfast in love and not to give up if their affection is not immediately reciprocated.

Speaking on behalf of the children, Mr. Omololu Abatan described his mother as a God-sent mother.

Some family members and colleagues also described Mrs. Abatan as a compassionate woman.#

 Mrs. Abatan, who retired as Deputy Director of Nursing at University College Hospital, Ibadan, expressed gratitude for the support she received throughout career.

Highlights of the event were performances by Oyo State Cultural Troupe and the Oyo State Police Command Music Band.
