Aduke Gold, whose real name was Ajayi Aduke Morounkola, was a talented Nigerian Gospel Singer born in Ilesha, Osun State.

She grew up in the Ogba and Badagry areas of Lagos and came from a

polygamous family, being the 11th child of her late parents, Mr. and Mrs Ajayi.

Born on 16th of March, 1990, her upbringing was shaped by her cultural

and religious roots. Despite the challenges of being part of a large family,

she found solace and inspiration in music from a young age.

Gold had a degree in History and International Relations from Lagos State

University, which she obtained through a scholarship.

She further pursued her passion for education and child development,

earning additional degrees and diplomas in Early Childhood Education,

Child Psychology, Montessori Education, and other fields.

Aduke Gold’s journey to stardom began with a memorable live performance

at the first remembrance ceremony for the late gospel artiste, Baba Ara.

Her professional music career began in 2004, and she quickly gained

recognition for her powerful voice and emotional performances.

Her breakthrough came in 2021 with the release of her hit song “Nitori

Ogo,” which solidified her place in the Nigerian gospel music scene.

Her songs often focused on themes of faith, hope, and divine intervention,

resonating with audiences across Nigeria and beyond.

Some of her notable songs include Ayo Mi” (My Joy) “Olorun Alagbara”

(Almighty God), “Orin Ayo” (Song of Joy) , “Iba Re” (Your Praise), “Ore

Ofe” (Grace) and “Ise Oluwa”.

Gold’s meteoric rise towards the top of the industry was cut short by death on 12th of August at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

The news of her passing was shared on social media by a fellow gospel

artiste, Esther Igbekele.

However, amid the controversies surrounding her death, the singer’s family had clarified that she died after battling cervical cancer.

Aduke Gold’s life and music left an indelible mark on the Nigerian gospel

music industry.
