Honourable Taiwo Amodu has resigned as Caretaker Chairman of Ede North Local Government.
Honourable Amodu who made this known in a statement personally signed, said he joined his counterparts across all the local governments and local council development areas to tender his resignation letter to enable him contest properly for office of the chairman in Ede North Local government.
He therefore pledged his continued support for Governor Adeleke’s administration in the efforts to turn Osun State to an investor destination.
Sequel to the recent apex court verdict on the emancipation of Local Government, the Supreme Court affirmed full-fledged autonomy for the local government as third tier of government.
Recall that the federal government through the Attorney General of the federation argued for full freedom for the local government levels of governance in the country. Upon the pronouncement of this autonomy by the Apex Court, the federal government warned that all states without democratically elected local government cabinets will have its monthly allocation withheld forthwith.
