Asoju Oba of Orile Ilawo Praises Ooni for Ile-Ife Peace Effort

The Asoju Oba of Orile Ilawo Kingdom, Chief Adeshina Kadri, PhD (H.C.), who is also an Ambassador of the Institute for Peace and Economic Development and Chairman/Founder of the Shina Kadri Foundation, has commended the Ooni of Ife and Permanent Chairman of the Osun State Council of Obas, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, for his remarkable role in fostering enduring peace between Ile-Ife and Modakeke communities.

In a statement personally signed, Chief Kadri described the Ooni’s intervention as a landmark progress and a testament to his unwavering commitment to unity, peace, and the development of Yoruba land.

According to Chief Kadri, the relationship between the two ancient communities has, over the years, been marked by historical hostilities and misunderstandings that have hindered mutual growth and peaceful coexistence.

He noted that the Ooni’s recent efforts to reconcile both sides represent a bold and commendable step toward lasting peace and communal harmony.

“The Ooni’s leadership continues to stand out as one rooted in wisdom, humility, and vision. His continuous efforts toward sustaining peace between Ile-Ife and Modakeke reflect not only his love for his people but also his dedication to the progress of the Yoruba nation,” Chief Kadri stated.

Chief Kadri concluded by praying for the continued reign of peace in Ile-Ife, Modakeke, and all Yoruba communities while commending the Ooni for his unrelenting passion for peace and unity.
