The Head of Democracy and Human Right Department of Justice, Development and Peace Commission, Ibadan, Mrs Adenike Ibitara and a media professional, Dr Festus Adedayo have urged National Broadcasting Commission, NBC to review some of its laws, so as not to restrict artistic expressions.
Mrs Ibitara and Dr Adedayo statement followed the commission’s ban on Nigerian musician, Eedris Abdulkareem’s song “Tell Your Papa” while featuring on Pensioners FM Programme, Trending.
According to them, the ban on the song is a threat to freedom of expression.
Mrs Ibitara and Dr Adedayo urged NBC not to be used as a tool to suppress freedom of expression.
They said the song was a reflection of the current economic challenges faced by Nigerians with no derogatory statement.
