Ensure equal distribution of power supply – NLC Tells FG

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has urged the federal government to adhere to the agreement it entered with the union on equal distribution of power supply to every household.

Chairman NLC, Oyo state council, Comrade Kayode Martins made this known while featuring on Pensioners FM current affairs programme, “Trending”.

Comrade Martins questioned federal government’s decision to revisit and implement the estimated electricity bill of 2019, after it was kicked against by the union.

The Oyo NLC Chairman said if federal government should proceed with the implementation, the union would continue to picket all electricity distribution companies in the country.

Speaking further, Comrade Martins called on the Chairman, tripartite committee on minimum wage, Alhaji Goni Bukar-Aji to allow Nigeria Governor’s Forum and private sectors to actively contribute during the negotiation of the proposed 615,000 minimum wage by the NLC.

Comrade Martins urged the government to fast track it negotiation on the new minimum wage to cushion the continuous effects of economic hardship on workers.
