Experts Back Parliamentary System of Govt.

A Legal Practitioner, Barrister Kunle Abimbola, and a Public Affairs Analyst, Honourable Femi Adebisi, have thrown their weight behind the re-introduction of the parliamentary system of government.

Barrister Abimbola and Honourable Adebisi said this while featuring on Pensioners FM weekend Current Affairs Programme “Voice of Liberation”

According to Barrister Abimbola, the Parliamentary system of government is less expensive than the Presidential system currently being practiced.

The Legal Practitioner also added that the presidential system of government, which comprises ministers, commissioners, and aides is having an overbearing effect on the nation’s economy.

On his part, Honourable Adebisi said that the problem be devilling the country has nothing to do with the system of government being practiced, but with the personalities handling the system.

Honourable Adebisi, however, advocated for a blend of both presidential and parliamentary systems of government.

60 members of House of Representatives had called for a bill to re-introduce a parliamentary system of government in the country.
