The Goat and Sheep Utilization Farmers Association of Nigeria ,GASUFAN, in collaboration with the Ibadan Digital Academy ,IDA, has organised a one-day seminar for livestock farmers in Ibadan aimed at promoting profitable sheep and goat farming.

Delivering a lecture title “Become a Millionaire through Sheep and Goat Production in Nigeria” , Lead Strategist at Agrickonsult and Farm Solution Ltd, Dr. Adedayo Sosina emphasised that with the right approach, sheep and goat farming can become a full-time, lucrative venture.
Dr. Sosina urged farmers to adopt modern techniques and best practices in breeding, feeding, and animal health management to maximize profits.
“I want farmers to know that going into goat and sheep production is not only viable, but also highly profitable. Anyone who commits to it can become a millionaire,” Dr. Sosina stated.

In another lecture titled “Livestock Diseases: Management and Prevention,” a veterinary doctor from the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training IAR&T, Obafemi Awolowo University, Moore Plantation, Ibadan, Dr. Oladele-Bukola Olakunle,advised farmers to seek veterinary assistance immediately any unusual symptoms are observed , stressing that early detection and treatment are keys to reducing livestock mortality.
“Whenever farmers notice any abnormal signs in their animals, they should immediately consult a veterinary doctor for guidance. Early detection and proper care are critical in preventing livestock deaths,” Dr. Olakunle stressed.
In a welcome address, President of GASUFAN, Prince Adewale Adedeji, said the seminar was organised to expose farmers to the latest trends in animal husbandry, particularly in goat and sheep farming.

“This seminar is meant to enlighten farmers on new trends in goat and sheep farming, particularly in disease detection and treatment methods,” Prince Adedeji said.
Prince Adedeji noted that the seminar was to help farmers better understand how to detect and manage common diseases affecting their livestocks.
