The Blue House, named after Gbadamosi family, has emerged as the overall winner of the 34th Inter-House Sports Competition of Anwar-ul-Islam Grammar School, Eleyele, Ibadan.
The competition, which featured four houses, saw Blue House garnering 329 points to claim the top spot, Yellow House, representing Dada family, came second with 270 points, followed by the Green House, tagged Agiri family, with 203 points, while Red House, dedicated to Ajuwon family, secured fourth position with 194 points.

In his speech, one of the school alumni and chairman on the occasion, Mr. Bayo Ajafeko, urged students to channel the same energy and dedication they displayed during sporting activities to their academic pursuits.

Speaking with newsmen, another alumnus, Mr. Peter Oluseye-Ogun and Principal of Ansarudeen High School, Dr. Saheed Olalere, advocated mandating sports as part of school curriculum.
Earlier, the Principal of Anwar-ul-Islam Grammar School, Mr. Segun Soyombo, expressed gratitude to parents, old students’ association and teachers, which included Pensioners FM’s news analyst, Prince Shina Oyelakin for their role in the success of the competition.

The event featured a match past, inter-schools’ invitational relay race for both male and female categories, won by Army Barracks Grammar School, Eleyele, Ibadan.
Other participating schools included Jericho High School, Army Day Secondary School, and Ansarudeen High School, all based in Ibadan.
