The Majority Leader of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewunmi Babajide, has emphasized the cultural significance of the recently celebrated Ede Day and its role in promoting unity and heritage among the people of Osun State.
Speaking during 2024 Ede Day, Hon. Babajide expressed pride in the rich cultural traditions of Ede and underscored the importance of preserving such values for future generations.
Ede Day, an annual cultural celebration, brought together indigenes and residents of the ancient town in a colorful display of traditional music, dance, and cuisine. The event also served as a platform for addressing developmental challenges and fostering communal bonds.
“Ede Day is not just a celebration; it is a reminder of our shared history and the values that bind us as a people,” said Hon. Babajide. He commended the organizing committee for their efforts in making the event a success and called on residents to actively contribute to the development of the community.
On legislative matters, Hon. Babajide highlighted the achievements of the Osun State House of Assembly under the current administration. He pointed to the passage of critical bills aimed at improving education, healthcare, and infrastructure across the state. According to him, the legislature has worked closely with the executive arm to ensure that policies reflect the needs and aspirations of the citizens.
