An education management expert, Dr Ademola Atanda, has applauded the Oyo State Government for the 18.78% allocated for education in the state budget for 2023.
Dr Atanda who is the immediate past Head of Department of Educational Management, University of Ibadan, made this known on ‘Isejoba Rere’ a development agenda weekly programme sponsored by Justice, Development and Peace, JDPC, Ibadan, with the support of Meserior.
The education management expert called for continuous monitoring, proper implementation and transparency in spending the allocated fund.
Dr Atanda, who described education as bedrock for national development, further called for proper management of the fund.
On the dilapidated condition of some public schools in the state, Dr Atanda, noted that the terrible states have impacted the education sector negatively, calling on the state government to look into reconstruction and renovations.
Dr Atanda also appealed for the support of all and sundry in improving the state and the nation’s education sector.
