Italian-American actor and film producer, Leonardo DiCaprio was born on the 11th of November, 1974.

Born in Los Angeles, DiCaprio began his career in the late 1980s by appearing in television commercials. In the early 1990s, he had recurring roles in various television shows, such as the sitcom “Parenthood”.

DiCaprio achieved international stardom with the star-crossed romances “Romeo + Juliet” (1996) and “Titanic” (1997).

In an attempt to shed his image of a romantic hero, DiCaprio sought roles in other genres, including the 2002 crime dramas “Catch Me If You Can” and “Gangs of New York”.

He has starred in several other movies including the blood diamond, aviator, unchanged, inception, the great Gatsby and so on.

Known for his work in biographical and period films, he is the recipient of numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, and three Golden Globe Awards.

DiCaprio became active in a number of causes, most notably those involving environmental issues. In 2000 he hosted Earth Day festivities and interviewed U.S. Pres. Bill Clinton for a television special on global warming.

In 2004, the actor joined the boards of the Natural Resources Defense Council and Global Green USA.

Despite dating a lot of women, Leonardo DiCaprio has never been married. He has also not publicly acknowledged having any children.
