Makinde, Others Celebrate Adesola at 80th

He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither, in all that he does, he prospers, says a verse in the Bible.

This Biblical verse set the tone for the sermon delivered by Reverend Diran Adeleke of Orita Mefa Baptist Church, Total Garden, Ibadan during the 80th birthday celebration of the Board Chairman of Pensioners FM, Chief Adebisi Adesola.

Preaching on the theme of the birthday celebration, “Appreciating the God of All Seasons”, Reverend Adeleke urged people to recognise and align with their life’s seasons when planning for the future.

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, represented by the Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, described the celebrant as a man who has contributed to the growth of broadcasting and civil service in the state.

Governor Makinde called on the celebrant to always allow people to tap from his wealth of experience.

On his part, Chairman on the occasion, who is a former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kayode Ariwo-ola prayed for the celebrant to celebrate more on earth in sound health.

Also, Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo state council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan lauded Chief Adesola’s selfless service and humility to humanity, describing him as a beckon of excellence.

The Wife of the Celebrant, Mrs Ibironke Adesola said her husband is a godly man and a role model.

Speaking on behalf of the children, his eldest son, Engineer Taiwo Adesola described their father as the bedrock of the family.

The new octogenarian, Chief Adesola who was full of appreciation to well-wishers, called on the youth to be contented especially during this period of economic challenge.

Present at the event were Oyo state commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Assistant Secretary, Oyo NUP, Comrade Banji Koleoso, members of staff of Pensioners FM and Nigeria Union of Pensioners.

Highlight of the event was the cutting of birthday cake led by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Ajibola Lawal.
