The Media Transformative Group MTG has revealed plans to organise intensive training sessions and workshops for media practitioners as a way of sustaining professional standards in broadcasting.

The Chairman of MTG, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu, made this known while he led the group on a courtesy visit on the Zonal Director of the National Broadcasting Commission NBC, Ibadan Zonal office, Oyo State, Mr Jude Ajayi.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Dr. Tiamiyu outlined the group’s vision, to include year-to-year review sessions aimed at equipping media practitioners with the necessary tools, knowledge and confidence on the job, as well as collaboration among broadcasting media managers for better performance.

Reacting, the NBC Zonal Director, Mr Ajayi, supported by his assistant, Mrs Sherifat Koro lauded MTG for coming up with what he described as a first-of-its-kind vision in the zone and appreciated the group for considering the NBC’s relevance towards its visions.

Mr Ajayi noted that the role of the commission is not to be a barrier to the broadcast industry, but to ensure healthy rivalry and professionalism among broadcast stations, stressing that reforming the broadcast industry is a collective responsibility.

He also called on MTG members to submit their views and suggestions towards the forthcoming review of the Nigeria broadcasting code.

Present at the visit include General Managers of MTG Member stations including Mr Joshua Adegbite of Adamimogo FM, Mr Amuda Adejare of I-Fliers FM, Mr Stephen Adedigba of Omoluabi FM and Mr Olaide Abioye, Head of Station, Crest FM.
