By Anuoluwapo Fasoyin

The observance of Ramadan and Lent by the Muslim and Christian faithfuls has been described as a testament of unity.

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State chapter, Reverend Elisha Ogundiya, made the statement while speaking with Pensioners FM.

Reverend Ogundiya emphasised that the coincidental fasting underscores the power of God and highlighted the importance of humility and unity in seeking divine guidance.

The CAN Chairman also clarified that the 40-day fast is not a biblical commandment for Christians, but rather a spiritual exercise led by the Holy Spirit, and encouraged Christians to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in their fasting and prayer practices.
