Retirees in Oyo State have started receiving the fifty thousand naira New Year bonus from the state government.
Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners Oyo State council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan made this known while speaking with Pensioners FM Correspondent.
Comrade Abatan, who commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the gesture, said he has again proved himself as a Pensioner friendly governor.
The Oyo NUP scribe had earlier this month, appealed to Governor Makinde to increase the New Year Bonus from 25,000 naira to 50,000 naira.
Comrade Abatan enjoined Governor Makinde to increase the gratuities being paid local government retirees and to fulfill his promises to issue circulars to some Board of Tertiary Institutions who yet to increase allocation for their monthly pensions.
