Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board has conferred meritorious and posthumous awards to some outstanding retired members of the board for their recognitions to the development of the board.
This was part of activities of the Board’s End of the Year Thanksgiving and Award ceremony held at Oyo state secretariat, Ibadan.
Chairman of the Board, Honourable Akeem Ige said the award was part of Governor Seyi Makinde’s effort to celebrate excellence.
Meritorious awards were conferred on Special Adviser on Labour Affairs to Governor Seyi Makinde, Comrade Bayo Titilola-Sodo and a retired Head of Local Government Administration of Ido Local Government, Dr Risikat Busari.


Also, the Pioneer Chairman of the Board, Late Prince Abdulfatai Adeyemi and a former staff, Late Mrs Rashidat Popoola were conferred with Posthumous Awards
Speaking on behalf of Late Prince Adeyemi’s family, a member of house of representatives, Akeem Adeyemi appreciated the Board for honouring their brother’s contributions.

Honourable Adeyemi therefore called on workers to be dedicated to duties.
Present at the event were Oyo state Head of Service, Olubunmi Oni represented by the Permanent Secretary, Min of Information, Mr Rotimi Babalola, Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo state council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, Chairman, Ibadan North West local government, Alhaji AbdulRahman Adepoju and other government functionaries.
Highlights of the event were lectures and cultural dance.
