Oyo state commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Michael Adaralewa says molestation of female children must stop.
Commandant Adaralewa said this today at the state command Headquarters of the Corps at Agodi, Ibadan.
The Commandant statement followed the arrest of one Isiaka Hammed, a native of Saare Ilorin Kwara State, Age 39 for defiling a minor, age 11 years on the 9th of this month, at his residence, Osungbade area of Molete, Ibadan.
He said it took the quick response of the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit of the command to arrest the suspect at Popo area of Ibadan, on 17th of the month, after the mother of the girl reported the case to NSCDC.
Commandant Adaralewa appealed to parents and guardians to always protect their children, especially the female child in order not to be a victim of molestation.
He stated further that the case would be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation, and enjoined the public to always furnish the corps with credible information whenever they see anything unlawful in their vicinity.
The suspect who admitted to the crime said he raped the girl when her mother who sells food within the neighbourhood asked the child to give him Isiaka soup at home.
