The Sabiganna of Iganna Kingdom and Permanent Chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State, Oba Saliu Azeez, has called for inclusive stakeholder engagement to drive comprehensive development in the Oke-Ogun geo-political zone of Oyo State.

The royal father made this known through a statement issued by his media team, commending the Oke-Ogun Development Consultative Forum (ODCF) for involving the academic community in ongoing efforts to accelerate the region’s progress.

While lauding the ODCF’s initiative, Oba Azeez emphasized the importance of incorporating both political and traditional institutions into all developmental strategies.

According to the statement, the monarch made these remarks during a special event organized to honour distinguished academics of Oke-Ogun origin. The event was held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

Oba Azeez expressed deep appreciation to ODCF for recognising the contributions of accomplished scholars from the region, stating, “They truly deserve this honour.”

He added, “We are happy today that we are on the right track because Oke-Ogun, as a geo-political zone, is in dire need of development. To achieve this, we must be strategic. I thank ODCF for being at the forefront of this effort.

“ODCF has taken a bold step by bringing our revered academic class into the development conversation alongside the traditional institutions. The next step is to bring the political class on board for holistic development.”
