Stakeholders have stressed that for Nigeria to truly entrench the rule of law, reforms must go beyond speeches and workshops, and translate into practical and sustainable actions.
This position was expressed during the Media Transformative Group, MTG, Summit and Official Unveiling Ceremony of the group, held in Ibadan.
Delivering a keynote address on the theme, “Nigeria @ 65: Rule of Law: Systemic Problem, The Way Forward,” Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Dr. Sunday Dare aid Nigeria must fix the architecture of justice if it truly desires to entrench the rule of law.
Dr Dare described the current justice system as one deeply rooted in interlocking weaknesses within the nation’s legal framework, justice administration, law enforcement, and public morality.
Dr. Dare commended MTG for organising the summit and called on the media to continue monitoring the justice system and ensuring that ongoing reforms are sustained.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Day and Chairman of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria BON, Southwest Zone, Deacon Owolabi Oladejo, urged President Bola Tinubu to heed the calls for national restructuring.
According to him, restructuring remains key to resolving most of the issues confronting the nation.

In their goodwill messages, the Royal Father of the Day, the Sabiganna of Igannaland, Oba Saliu Azeez, and the Chief Press Secretary to the Oyo State Governor, Dr. Sulaiman Olanrewaju, commended the MTG for organizing a platform to discuss issues affecting national growth and governance.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman and Convener of the Media Transformative Group, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu, explained that the group was inspired by a call from veteran broadcaster Dr. Yemi Farounbi, urging radio stations in Ibadan to collaborate for stronger economic sustainability and content development.
Dr Babatunde also said the summit was a deliberate effort by MTG to foster critical conversations on the rule of law, a cornerstone for Nigeria’s progress.

Dignitaries present include the Managing Director and Chief executive Officer of Pensioners FM, Comrade Olusegun Abatan represented by the Chairman, Retired Primary school Teacher, Oyo State, Comrade Dosu Akinpelu, Radio Station’s Executives, Public Affairs Analysts.
Highlights of the event included panel discussions, question and answer sessions, and award presentations to distinguished personalities who have contributed to the development of the media and justice sectors.
