To reduce the stress and lessen the burden of the Olubadan Advisory Council on the installation of Mogajis and Baales in Ibadanland, a call has gone to the families and communities in the ancient metropolis to work and ensure that they settle on preferred candidates before presentation to the Council.

This charge was made on Monday by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen.Lekan Balogun, CFR, Alli Okunmade II at the installation of a Mogaji and nine Baales in the presence of members of the Olubadan Advisory Council, including Oba Owolabi Olakulehin (Balogun), Oba Tajudeen Ajibola (Otun Balogun) and Oba Lateef Gbadamosi Adebimpe (Osi Balogun).

Others were Oba Eddy Oyewole (Osi-Olubadan), Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi (Ashipa Olubadan), Oba Kolawole Adegbola (Ashipa Balogun), Oba Hamidu Ajibade (Ekerin Olubadan), Oba Dada Isioye and Oba Abiodun Azeez (Ekerin and Ekarun Balogun respectively).

Olubadan, who insisted on rancour-free selection process noted that such would not give him and his members of Advisory Council stress and engenders cohesion within the families and communities, adding, “I urge our families and communities to do their home work properly before coming up with candidates to be installed as either Mogaji or Baale.

“A situation whereby more than one applications come to us for the same position of Mogaji or Baale is an indication of discord among the members of the affected families and communities and it gives us task of trying to navigate the murky water of family intrigues that may be difficult to unravel”, Olubadan added.

Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, Otun Balogun, on behalf of the monarch charged the newly installed Mogaji and Baales to ensure they mend fences in their respective domains towards peaceful communal living, progress, growth and development of their areas, adding, “the present traditional institution in Ibadanland has zero tolerance for rancour and other less dignifying situations”.

Among the newly installed persons were Oluwakayode Ademola Adeniyi and Waheed Olasunkanmi Durodola as Mogajis of Solekan Ogunsola and Iwinleti Alakaso families. Saheed Omoola Azeez, Moshood Akinwumi Olaleye and Yunus Adeoye Adewusi became Baales of Alfa Agbomola Olusoji village, Oloka in Egbeda and Amosun village in Akinyele Local Government.
