The Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Oyo State Council has, reiterated his commitment at ensuring improved welfare for pensioners in the state and southwest in general.
Comrade Abatan pledged his allegiance once again while featuring on a Special Edition of Pensioners FM Current Affairs programme, Trending, to mark his 70th birthday.

According to Comrade Abatan, fighting for the course of retirees was a promise he made when he came back from a medical trip to India in 2012.
Comrade Abatan who doubles as the Public Relations Officer, NUP Southwest, said his birthday wish is for Governor Seyi Makinde to approve the 13point agenda before him, especially the 33 per cent pension increment and consequential adjustment.
The Oyo NUP Scribe appreciated Governor Makinde for the various demands of pensioners which he has been giving topmost attention.
On the proposed union’s hospital, which will be known as Sure Healthcare Hospital LTD, Comrade Abatan pointed out that the facility would be opened to the public soon.
Comrade Abatan appreciated family, friends, Pensioners, Oyo NUP, executive and staff members of Pensioners 106.7 FM for showering him with prayers and gifts on his 70th birthday.

At the end of the Programme, the management of the station presented a birthday gift to Comrade Abatan, who is also the MD/CEO of the station.
