Esther Oladimeji Crowned Miss Oyo State

An indigene of Ibadan, Miss Esther Oladimeji has been crowned Miss Oyo State, 2024, out of 25 contestants.

Oyo state Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barrister Temilolu Ashamu made the announcement at the 21st edition of the beauty pageant, held in Ibadan.

The announcement followed the presentation of a car key and cash prize to Miss Oladimeji.

After being crowned by former Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Monsurat Sunmonu, the newly crowned Queen, Miss Oladimeji lauded the organisers and promised to use her position to empower vulnerable young girls in the society.

Earlier, Wife of Oyo State Governor, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde praised the convener of the competition for showcasing ladies with beauty and brains, urging them to further create a mentorship programme to compete for a better society.

In his remark, the convener, Mayor Isaac Brown, who appreciated Oyo state government for the support, advised Miss Oladimeji to add values to the society as she will be representing Oyo State in any beauty contest.

Mayor Brown further said all contestants were winners as he announced that cash prizes would be awarded to them.

Dignitaries present were Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalist, Oyo state council, Mr Ademola Babalola, Jagunmolu Olubadan, Dotun Sanusi represented by Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade, Member, House of Representative, Hon. Adedeji Olajide-Odidiomo and Music Icon, Dr Yinka Ayefele.

Highlights of the event includes, dancing competition, beauty parade and raffle draw.
