Christians have been charged not to fear death, emphasising that it is not the end of life, but rather a transition to eternity.
Very Reverend Samuel Olawoyin, gave the charge in his sermon at a special thanksgiving service held in honor of late Sunday Makinde, elder brother of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
Very Reverend Olawoyin who is the Provost of the Church, urged Christians to be faithful while serving God and commended Governor Makinde for giving his late brother a befitting burial.
In his appreciation message, Governor Seyi Makinde, who raised his voice in praises, acknowledged outpouring of support and sympathy the family received, stating that despite the sudden loss, his family remains strong and united.
Governor Makinde flanked by his wife, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, led children, family members, relatives, friends, and well-wishers to the Church to appreciate God in a Thanksgiving service.
The event that featured special prayers for Makinde’s Family, Oyo state, and Nigeria at large, was graced by the Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, Chief Judge, Justice Iyabo Yerima, Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, Head of service Mrs. Olubumbi Oni, Commissioners, traditional rulers, and Political Appointees.
