The Oyo State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Ademola Aderinto, has stressed the importance of viewing the environment as a source of economic wealth.
Hon. Aderinto made the remark while leading a delegation of senior ministry officials on a courtesy visit to Pensioners FM, aimed at collaborating on environmental hygiene and initiatives.
Hon. Aderinto highlighted the state government’s commitment to promoting a circular economy where waste are valued and utilized at every stage.
He described environmental protection as a shared responsibility and underlined that government policies are being implemented to manage resources sustainably.
The commissioner also sought Pensioners FM 106.7’s collaboration in promoting environmental awareness across Oyo State.
Responding, Pensioners FM General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu, praised the state’s efforts in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene to prevent diseases.
Dr. Tiamiyu noted that the station has been supporting environmental initiatives for 6 years now and pledged that the station, on behalf of its board and management, would continue to back the government’s drive for a cleaner environment.
