The Balogun of Ibadanland and member of the Olubadan in council, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, has advised the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, to abstain from partisan politics and focus on his traditional responsibilities for the progress of the ancient city.

Oba Ajibola made this known while speaking at a press conference held at his palace in Sanyo, Ibadan.

He emphasized that the stool of the Olubadan is not a political office and, as such, should not be associated with any candidate.

He noted that he has called on elders to intervene in the matter, expressing confidence that the Olubadan will reconsider his actions.

The Balogun also urged the monarch to stay away from politics to prevent the revered stool from being brought into disrepute.

He further used the opportunity to dismiss speculations of any attempt by the Olubadan to impeach the governor, as well as claims of a plan by the governor to dethrone the monarch.
