The Oyo State government says all misconceptions about vaccines in the state are false, therefore, are safe for use.
The State Health Educator, Mr Olarinde Olaoye made this known in an interview with Pensionersβ FM Correspondent.
According to Mr Olaoye, no government would roll out vaccines for its residents without testing its efficacy and safety, and noted that all vaccines in the state and across the country have been tested by National Agency for Food & Drug Administration & Control, NAFDAC, World Health Organisation, WHO and United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, UNICEF.
Mr Olaoye, while urging the public to disregard any information and rumours concerning the use of approved vaccines by the government, also stated that vaccines do not cause death, disabilities and barrenness.
The Health Educator further stated that vaccines approved by the state government are free and should be taken against viruses like, COVID-19, Diphtheria, Polio and Human papillomavirus.
