Two Public Affairs Analysts, Mr Kayode Adejumo-Bello and Honourable Femi Adebisi have described as waste of public funds, the proposed budget of five billion naira for purchase of a Navy Presidential yacht.
Mr. Adejumo-Bello and Honourable Adebisi made this known while featuring on Pensioners’ FM Current Affairs Programme, “Voice of Liberation”.
Mr Adejumo-Bello explained that though the Navy presidential yacht was part of the budgetary provision of the last administration, President Bola Tinubu should have budgetted the funds for sectors that are of great importance to the well being of Nigerians.
Mr Adejumo-Bello said reviving the economy, security, education, and health sectors should be the focus of the present administration.
On his part, Honourable Adebisi said that the president’s plan to purchase the yacht during the current hardship being faced by Nigerians was insensitive.
Honourable Adebisi, equally urged the government to consider spending public funds on matters of great importance.
Mr Adejumo-bello and Honourable Adebisi, therefore, commended the country’s lawmakers for removing the money for the yacht and placing it under the student loans in the supplementary budget.
