AREHSPSOOS Lauds Oyo Police for Arresting killers of Retired PS

The Chairman, Oyo State Agency for the Control of AIDS, OYSACA, Dr Gbola Adetunji has urged older persons to engage in regular exercise, disciplined diet and less alcohol to avoid old age diseases.

Dr Adetunji, who is the Guest Speaker made this known at the general meeting of the Association of Retired Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries, Oyo/Osun States, AREHSPSOOS, held at Oyo state Pensioners’ House, Ibadan.

Speaking on the topic titled “Wading Gallantly Through the Tiles of Gracious Aging”, Dr Adetunji said old age is a natural process and not a disease.

According to him, dizziness, heart diseases, high blood pressure and arthritis are some of the common illnesses associated with old age and can be properly managed with regular exercise.

Dr Adetunji, who was a former Commissioner for Health in Oyo state, also advised members of the AREHSPSOOS to educate the younger generation on the joy of old age.

Earlier in his remarks, Chairman, AREHSPSOOS, Chief Adebisi Adesola, who sympathised with the family of late Mrs Olaitan Gbenle, a Retired Permanent Secretary with Oyo state government, who lost her life to armed robbers, lauded the state police command for arresting the culprits.

Chief Adesola appreciated members of the association for their unwavering support in the affairs of the association and solicited for more cooperation in driving the association forward.

The association also adopted 21st of August every year as AREHSPSOOS’s day and launched its website www.arehspsoos.org.

 Highlight of the event was introduction of new members.
