Barrister and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Akeem Agbaje, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, former Governor of Oyo State, who passed away just days before marking his 90th birthday.
In a touching statement, Agbaje remembered Chief Olunloyo as a man who led an exceptional life, marked by intellectual brilliance, principled leadership, and unwavering service to humanity.
“Chief Victor Omololu Olunloyo was more than just a former governor; he was a man of profound intellect and wisdom—a rare combination of scholarly achievement and statesmanship. His legacy as a mathematician, engineer, and public servant will always be remembered in both the history of our state and the nation as a whole,” Agbaje said.
“Even in his passing, his life continues to serve as a source of inspiration and pride,” Agbaje continued. “He was the epitome of a servant leader—principled, visionary, and firmly committed to the transformative power of education and governance.”
As the state mourns his loss, Agbaje concluded by celebrating Olunloyo’s life of purpose. “May God accept his return, forgive his shortcomings, and grant him eternal peace in paradise.”
