A Public Affairs Analyst, Mr. Adesumbo Badejoko, has linked the persistent insecurity plaguing the nation to leadership failures, calling for a complete overhaul of Nigeria’s security architecture.
Mr. Badejoko gave the submission in an interview with Pensioners FM while speaking on the wave of killing in Plateau and Benue states shortly after featuring on Pensioners FM weekly current affairs programme” Trending”.
Mr. Badejoko emphasised that the inability of successive administrations to build a coherent and accountable security system has left the country vulnerable to insurgency, banditry, and other forms of violent crime.
Mr. Badejoko urged for the adoption of a holistic, intelligence-driven, and community-inclusive model of security management.
He further called for the decentralization of the security framework, suggesting that empowering state and local governments to play more active roles in policing could significantly improve response times and build trust within communities.
