Baale Oluyole, Ogunyemi is Dead

The Baale of Baale of Oluyole Estate in the Ibadan South West Local Government Area, Oyo State, Chief Yemi Ogunyemi is dead.

The news of his death was announced in the early hours of today and confirmed by one of his grandson, Anuoluwapo Ogunyemi.

Meanwhile, the Aare Alaasa of Ibadanland, Oloye Lekan Alabi, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Yemi Ogunyemi, describing the news as a rude shock.

Oloye Alabi made this known while speaking in a telephone interview with Pensioners FM correspondent.

Oloye Alabi, a former colleague of Chief Ogunyemi during their time at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), highlighted the late community leader’s unwavering commitment to the development of his community and the preservation of Yoruba culture.

He said Chief Ogunyemi played active role in a programme christened “Enbalaya” of the 80s-90s.

Similarly, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) in a statement by the council’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Olomide, President-General, Chief Sulaimon Ajewole, described Chief Ogunyemi as a passionate leader who contributed immensely to the growth and harmony of Oluyole Estate and Ibadan land at large.

Chief Ogunyemi, until his death, was member of Ibadan South West local government traditional council.
