Broadcasting Community Honours Veteran Journalist Adebayo Olaosun on Retirement

Broadcast Journalism Professionals, family, friends and well-wishers have converged on Radio Nigeria, Moniya, Ibadan to celebrate one of their own, Mr. Adebayo Olaosun who retired after 35 years of meritorious service to the country.

Congratulating the celebrant, two former Directors of News and Current Affairs Radio Nigeria, Ibadan, Elder Aderenle Ajisefinmi and Asiwaju Tunde Abiodun described Mr. Olaosun as a thorough bred broadcast-journalist who did his work in compliance with laid down standards, rules and ethics of the profession.

On their part, Deputy Director News Radio Nigeria, Ibadan, Mr. Adewunmi Faniran and General Manager, Pensioners Fm, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu, described the celebrant as a man of good reputation, hardworking and assertive yet friendly.

Earlier, the general manager of Amuludun Fm and the chief host of the event, Mr. Steve Agbaje, commended Mr. Olaosun for being reliable and trusted not only as a member of staff but as a talent builder.

The wife of the celebrant, Mrs. Taiwo Olaosun and one of his children miss Kafayat Olaosun appreciated him for being a husband and father that never toyed with the welfare of his family despite the time-demanding nature of his job.

Reacting, Mr. Adebayo Olaosun who retired as Manager, News, appreciated almighty Allah for guiding him through the thick and thin of his sojourn in Radio Nigeria, as well as everyone that contributed to his career success and welfare.

Other dignitaries at the event include, General manager, Radio Nigeria Positive Fm Akure, Mrs. Olubunmi Olalere, Assistant Director News and Current Affairs, Radio Nigeria Ibadan, Mr. Tayo Sanni, veteran broadcast journalists, Pastor Tunji Ogungbade and Alhaji Jiire Oladimeji, as well as wife of Pensioners’ Fm General Manager’s Wife, Mrs. Morufat Tiamiyu, and wife  of Olobu of Ilobu in Osun state, Olori Yetunde Olaniyan.
