The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Oyo State has expressed its readiness to conduct a hitch-free Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election on Saturday, 16th of August.
INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC in the state, Dr. Adeniran Tella disclosed while speaking to newsmen at the commission’s headquarters, in Agodi, Ibadan.
According to Dr. Tella, all necessary materials that will facilitate the smooth conduct of the election are already in place.
Meanwhile, five candidates contesting in the bye-election have signed a peace accord.

The candidates are Femi Akin-Alamu of the African Democratic Congress; Adewale Olatunji of the All Progressives Congress; Olabisi Odususi of the All Progressives Grand Alliance; Fola Oyekunle of the Peoples Democratic Party; and Hammed Badmus of the Zenith Labour Party.
In attendance at the press briefing were Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, CP Femi Haruna, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Mrs Rosemary Alo and various security agencies.
