Culture, Religion sentiments delay justice for GBV victims – Precious Fruit NGO

A nongovernmental Organisation, Precious Fruit Charity has attributed culture, religion sentiments and stigmatisation as factors contributing to the delay in justice for Gender Based Violence, GBV victims.

Chief Executive Officer of Precious Fruit Charity Organisation, Mrs Adesina Olusola made this known while featuring on Pensioners FM current affairs programme, Trending.

She said to curb the menace, children should be aware of Child’s Right Act, perpetrators must be punished and Child’s Right Act domesticated across the country.

Mrs Olusola noted that ending GBV is a collective effort, calling on the public to report cases to appropriate authorities such as National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, Nigeria Police Force and National Human Rights Commission, NHRC.

She also called on the government through the Ministry Of Women Affairs to intensify efforts to save and protect victims of GBV.

Mrs Olusola, however, reiterated the Precious Fruit Charity’s commitment in creating awareness across the 33 local government areas in the Oyo state.
