An All Progrssive Congress,APC stalwart and the deputy national chairman National Association of Local Governments in Nigeria, NALGON, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye has urged Christians to see lent as a time for reflection and a period of self-examination.
In a statement by his media office, Prince Abass – Aleshinloye said Lent is a time when one rediscover the beauty of simplicity, the joy of sacrifice, and the power of love.
“I heartily felicitate with our Christian brothers and sisters as they commence the Lenten season, a period of spiritual reflection, fasting, and prayer.
“As we embark on this sacred journey, I pray that Almighty God grants us the strength, wisdom, and courage to observe the Lenten season with sincerity and devotion.
“May this period of abstinence and self-denial bring us closer to our Creator, and may we emerge from it with renewed spirits, refreshed minds, and a deeper commitment to serving humanity.”
The former Algon Chairman in Oyo State also advised citizens to cooperate with the government.
He said by working together, Nigerians can build a more prosperous, peaceful, and stable nation for future generations.
