A Seasonal Journalist, Comrade Lanre Ogundipe, has urged Christians to utilize social media in evangelizing the gospel of Christ.
Comrade Ogundipe who was the guest speaker, made this known at the 2023 fourth quarterly lecture of the Men’s Missionary Union,MMU, of the New Haven Church held in Ibadan.
Speaking on the theme” The Social Media: Christianity and Evangelism”, Comrade Ogundipe said social media evangelism can bring hope, salvation, and transformation to lives around the world.
The former president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ noted that Christians can compose messages, create eye-catching graphics, videos and infographics to convey the timeless truths of the Gospel in an appealing and engaging manner.
Comrade Ogundipe who noted that rather than using social media for ungodly act, it should be used to fulfill God’s command, and also to share the Gospel with individuals across the globe.
On his part, pastor in charge of New Haven Church, Pastor John Adeyemo, said the choice of theme for the lecture was to emphasise the importance of social media to the Christian doom.
Pastor Adeyemo added that Christians should not be tired of preaching the gospel of God which was a mandate for all Christians.
